Growing up in rural western Massachusetts and having lived in Washington, DC and the United Kingdom studying and working for state and local institutions, Aaron Astley knows what it means to work hard and have a passion for what you do. A determined overachiever, he is always looking for the next challenge and problem to be solved. Whether working alone, or as a member of a board, or team; Aaron works to solve problems and make people smile along the way.
Drive and determination has always been at the forefront of his life. An Eagle Scout and having gone through the National Youth Leadership Training Course (NYLT), Aaron from a young age knew the importance of community service, problem solving, and helping to lead others toward a common goal. From a young age many knew that he would go far after glimpsing the spotlight in the Oscar Award winning film The Cider House Rules (1999), and a television commercial for the AHL Springfield Falcons. Aaron, with his years of customer service, security, and supervising experience comes with the maturity, and leadership of a responsible professional.
Aaron received his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Westfield State University in August of 2013, having completed it a year early with Honors (Cum Laude). While attending his alma mater, Aaron served as a Representative at Large on the university’s Student Government Association where he sat on the University’s All College Committee and gave the students of the university a voice in the committee’s decisions. Aaron also attended Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, England as part of a study abroad program for a year; here he gained a passion for international education and international relations between the United States and the United Kingdom. He believes more people need to consider studying in another country as it allows for personal growth for both the person traveling, and the individuals that they will come in contact with.
When Aaron isn’t working, you can find him reading or watching the news, hiking or camping, talking with friends from across the United States or around the world, drinking coffee, planning his next big trip, or trying to find that next big challenge to overcome.
